My fiancé and I went into Coursegoules really not knowing much, but hoping it would be a good place to experience Provence. We were honestly shocked when we saw the breathtaking home we would share with Mitchell and Nizar. They had completely redone this stunning French country home with 3 tiers of perfectly designed sitting areas with views of the rolling hills. We fell asleep reading in a little outside room they made that felt like you were in a canopy in the trees. The room we stayed in was lovely and perfect put together with Mitchell's beautiful art, and it was even better than the photos. mitchell and Nizar were extremely welcoming; wrote us maps of hikes in the area and left us treats from their garden. The village is only a short walk away and looks frozen in time. Such an incredible escape, only an hour away from Nice. A totally different world. We can't wait to plan our next visit! We were sad to leave!

WOW! This place is perfect. Idyllic. Picturesque. Mitchell was the best host, and he made us feel like a guest at Le Vallon du Brec. We rented both of his apartments for a group of four. Amenities were perfect. Our hosts thought of every possible detail, and their commitment to craftsmanship, design, and hospitality shone through. You'll need a car to get to their place, but once you're here, you'll never want to leave. Party of 4, went in September 2015. 3 nights. Can't say enough good things, so I'll end with this--Best AIRBNB experience of all time.

From start to finish we had an amazing time in Mitchell and Nizar's Design Apartment. The setting is truly beautiful and the apartment has been set out with stylish, unique furnishing thanks to Mitchell's artistry. The garden and accommodation is exactly as per the photographs and description - though you don't see Nizar's constant watering feature which is a shame as this ensures that it really is this green and lush during a heatwave. But what made it more perfect was the human touch. After an early flight they gave us a great welcome and nothing was too much trouble ringing shops in the village, advising on our onward journey or even providing home grown herbs and vegetables from the garden for cooking dinner! This is the kind of place that Airbnb should be about. My only regret about giving it a good recommendation is that it may be harder to book next time - but still, can't speak highly enough. Enjoy.

Mitch and Nizar gave us an excellent warm welcome even leaving some of their delicious homemade confitures and a bottle of wine in the fridge! The apartment we stayed in was everything we could have wished for- cool and calm with a well equipped kitchen and comfy bed ! The whole place has a relaxing and artistic atmosphere with many enchanting details everywhere you look. Vallon du Brec is an incredibly beautiful place to stay, an interesting and bountiful garden and the clear mountain air and wonderful views perfect to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city!

We had such a wonderful stay - the apartment and gardens were just absolute heaven. We came for a peaceful, relaxing few days away from reality and this is exactly what we go, we barely left the property in fact except to take some walks in the surrounding area. We mostly lay around in the gardens, swam in the pool and enjoyed the sun! We received a lovely warm welcome from Mitchell and Nizar, including drinks on our first evening, and some fresh vegetables to enjoy! They were great hosts and around if we needed them but also gave us space, perfect! Coursegoules is a charming little village with a small shop where you can get all the basics you need and there's a great bakery and a spot for coffee in the morning. Other places are also in very easy reach if you want to explore and getting to Coursegoules from Nice was super easy. Thanks so much for such a lovely stay - we will be back and recommend it to everyone!

We had such a lovely stay at this beautiful, peaceful property in the hills behind Nice. Mitchell and Nizar are amazing hosts and have created a very special guesthouse and garden. They welcomed us with drinks, stopped by to give us veggies from garden and were always available for anything we needed. The apartment itself is perfect and very well decorated. It is very close to the pretty town of Coursegoules and an easy drive from many other lovely towns. We stayed five days and could easily have stayed longer. Thank you guys!

We had a very lovely stay at this gorgeous airbnb apartment! This was my fist time to France and my partner had been several times before and wanted to introduce me to the beauty of the area. We decided on this space from the pictures and the location and all the positive reviews. We were exceedingly pleased with our choice when we arrived!! The space is truly amazing. Mitchell is a talented artist and makes the space quite special with his art and artistic touches. The bed was deluxe! Fine quality bedding and mattress, lots of little special touches in and around the space. The views and the gardens are breathtaking. We enjoyed the terrace over looking the valley and the surrounding hills in front of the apartment, and they even have a pool! Mitchell and Nizar were very friendly and accommodating. Mitchell made us home made cookies on one morning and they offered us wine and a tour of the grounds and a history of the place. We got tips on places to explore in the area. The apartments are near the main house and we appreciated that the space (and hosts) offered both good privacy when we wanted and also the opportunity to connect, visit and ask questions when we wanted that as well. If you are looking at this space and considering a visit-do it! You won't be disappointed.

Mitchell and Nizar were very welcoming. We arrived a bit later than expected and they were very accommodating. For starts Wow! What a house!!! They have done an amazing job at restoring their home, the rooms they rent and the Garden! Oh the Garden! Our room was impeccable, beautiful decorations and art work by Mitchell throughout, and a lot of attention to detail. Also, our bed was very comfortable. You can also see the mountains and the beautiful view from it, which is an amazing feeling every morning. The house is located 35-50 min driving from Saint Paul de Vence, Vence, Antibes, Nice, Eze, in a beautiful hill overlooking the mountains, so you are close to everything if you have your own wheels. The Garden was very peaceful and relaxing, if you like outdoors this is the place for you. Take a hike uphill, do yoga in the AMAZING garden, take the picnic basket and lay on the grass and hear the birds chirping, feel the breeze in your face, while you take a nap immerse in the nature, or sit by one of the terraces to have a wine and take in the amazing view! We purposely spent time in and around the house because it was so amazing, and we wanted to enjoy it. Unfortunately the laundry was not working, but Mitchell offered to do laundry for us which was very very kind. Even though the apartment was adjacent to their home, Mitchell and Nizar were very discreet, and we felt we were very private! Parking was easy as well as finding the place. Definitely one of our best stays in AirBnB, and we cannot wait to go back. We definitely recommend this place to anyone who wants to have a true Provence Côte d'Azur experience!

The pictures do not do it justice! The house and gardens were so lovely we had to build a "rest" day into our schedule just to fully enjoy them. This is a beautiful old stone home that Mitchell and Nizar have painstakingly restored, right down to carving rocks out of the interior in order to make an intimate yet spacious room. They obviously invested a lot of love and thought in this project which is made clear in Mitchell's art which hangs on the walls and simple touches like the ample distribution of outlets (a luxury it seems in France), fluffy towels in the bathroom (another luxury), a picnic basket just in case, a treat in the fridge, etc. This said, we spent the majority of our time outdoors in one of the 3 terraces carved into the hillside which overlook beautiful rolling hills which Nizar has cultivated into an amazingly lush, fragrant, and expansive garden. I had initially thought you had to hike to get to the vistas in their photos, but they are literally at your doorstep. At one point it started to sprinkle which was the perfect time to retire to the cabana's built-in sofas where we were able to still enjoy the incredible vista, watch the breeze swaying in the trees and enjoy our brioche with chocolate we had picked up from the boulangerie in town who pulled these out of his wood-fired oven built into his stone wall. Such a magical place! The house is situated on the periphery of Coursegoules (a walk to the other side took maybe 7 minutes...). The town itself is lovely - narrow streets, old stone buildings, a wonderful boulangerie, two restaurants, two small groceries, and virtually no tourists (at least in June). Mitchell and Nizar really made this a magical place that is a gem in my memory of an incredible trip to France. They went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed (directions, suggestions if prompted, laundry!) to get the most out of our visit. Overall, a fantastic base for exploring the coastal towns of France - cannot recommend more highly!

Great stay with lovely hosts in a wonderful place! Highly recommend going. Finding Le Vallon du Brec was total coincidence and I could not be happier about it! The place is a wonderland, beautifully hidden in the Alpes maritimes. The amazing garden with an astonishing view from a beautiful terrace is exceptional and not for nothing labeled "jardin remarquable". Mitchell and Nizar where perfect hosts, really welcoming, helpful and just lovely. Our room was beautifully decorated, especially with a touch of Mitchell´s art, restored with care and a romantic touch. The terraces in front completed it with peace. The little medieval village of Coursegoules is just 5 min walk away with narrow streets and stairs as you would find them in picture books, offers a great restaurant (Eric saved our lives twice), an amazing artisan bakery and a supermarket. Thank you Mitchell and Nizar. We really hope to make it back one day!

I’ll start by saying this place is simply amazing. Set high up in the hills, in the medieval village of Cousegoules, around 30km’s or 45 minutes from Nice, this place is a ‘must do’ if you fancy a few very chilled days away from the hustle and bustle of any typical touristic routes that Cotes d'Azur has to offer. The village itself is a medieval village, which is a great to explore with spectacular views. The accommodation is simple, clean and yet very chic. Everything works as it should, and the apartment is a mix of traditional furniture set in a modern home. If you are city folk (!), initially you may worry at the lack of a TV – but for us that soon passed and ended up being a big bonus. Though you can still keep in touch with the world via the Wi-Fi. There is all you will need to get by very comfortably, including a washing machine and good kitchen facilities (its pretty remote, so you may need it! But that’s its charm!). A special mention goes to the comfortable bed – big, with clean white cotton sheet, you will get great nights sleep here! The hosts know how to take care of the small details. We felt totally comfortable with the owners, who will interact with you as much as you want. Nothing felt too much trouble, and we really felt that they truly cared about our experience, whilst being clearly proud of their surroundings and what they have created – and justly so! It’s paradise. The house sits in a sizeable garden, which you are free to explore – which will take a good hour, with so many nooks, crannies and secluded seating areas. Its setting is simply stunning and the hosts make it very clear that their garden is yours to share, and no areas were “off bounds”. My honest advice - take a trip here, leave your wows and worries behind and soak up some fresh sunny Provence air. Oh and take a pint of milk, and some other essentials as its 16Kms away from a ‘proper’ supermarket… Enjoy!

What absolute dream space! The apartment is SO well decorated and modernised and the garden and view is absolutely dreamy. I would stay here again for sure. You could not ask for more hospitable hosts! When we arrived we were welcomed with a glass of wine. The garden so beautiful and the host will take you on a tour of the grounds. Mitchell is a great painter so if you get a chance check out his studio! Thanks gentleman for a lovely stay!

We booked the Vallon du Brec totally by chance when looking for a place to stay close to St Paul de Vence. We were astonished by what we found! The place is out of this world. The view from this beautiful terrace old "bergerie" is exceptional and breathtaking. Mitchell and Nizar, the hosts, where really discreet and welcoming. The rooms are beautifully decorated with love and care in a resort style with Asian as well as middle eastern touches and art pieces by Mitchell give them a unique feel. the romantic feel makes it for a perfect honeymoon stopover. The place is very quite and peaceful and at night fireflies are visiting the terraces. But the hidden gem is the garden! On steep terraces just beneath the rooms terraces and one 2 hectares, it is a marvel that Nizar and Mitchell took over with love a year or so ago. It was laboured with love by the previous owners for over 20 years as an art display and has a collection of trees, plants and flowers that rivals the best gardens I have seen anywhere. it is beautifully laid out and despite the exotic collections of plants and careful landscaping manages to keep an natural feel. Nizar kindly walked us through it and shared with passion with gardening. There is also a nice little vegetable patch Nizar was kind enough to share the produces with us and swap recipes. Mitchell a very talented painter and was kind enough to show us his beautiful art and workshop. The village of Coursegoules is just 5 minutes away and has a couple of really nice little restaurants and a supermarket 5 the rooms has a perfectly equipped kitchen). It is a medieval village worth visiting for it's beautiful narrow streets and stairs, its old communal bread oven and it is a great base for trekkers. The inhabitants seem to all be lost trekkers with an artistic and ecological bend. In short, Le Vallon du Brec was a great surprise and I would gladly recommend it. We for sure will be back for some trekking in the surroundings. Thank you Mitchell and Nizar
